Most of my life I have been working in an educational and a top-class football environment. I have trained and coached many young players to become professional players and delivered many courses for the Belgian Football Federation Trainers' school and the Flemish Trainer's School.
I was also involved in research on motor functioning and sports psychology at the University of Leuven. As a specialist in coordination and running skills I was invited by UEFA to train the European Elite Referees.
As lecturer and author regarding rhythmic cueing and brain centred training I have also offered many courses to physiotherapists, teachers in schools for children with learning problems, teachers PE in Mental Institutes and Geriatrics and trainer/coaches Special Olympics.
Both this versatility and specialization of work made it possible to design the CogiTraining Method and SenseBall Practice.

For many years I have proven to have the competence to lead a club to a high level of performance. I have built up my carrier in a thoughtful way and finally arrived at the highest level in my home country, training Standard de Liège.
The fact that I am very open minded and always looking for new ways to improve my players' performance had an enormous influence on my development. Not only as a coach I could prove to have credibility, but also as an analyst during many broadcasted Belgian and European matches.
The fact that I was invited by José Mourinho in November 2011 to train and coach Real Madrid's first team for one week, confirms my growing reputation. In this season, 2011-2012 I succeeded bringing the Standard de Liège squad as only Belgian club into the Europa League's 8th finals.
I always go on looking for innovation and progress. This is why I decided to work with Michel Bruyninckx, to deliver a training method that can endorse a professional player's general development.

I have always been interested in working with young people. After being for several years a PE professor in different primary and secondary schools I made acquaintance with Michel Bruyninckx.
In that way I could improve my didactical and pedagogical knowledge in a remarkable way, in particular by an in depth study of the CogiTraining Method and SenseBall Practice. Most of all during my period at Standard de Liège I experienced that young players learn better if we understand in a better way the brain is functioning.
The young squad I have been coaching showed that the quality of their game progressed a lot and a better organized learning environment enhanced their performance immediately.

At the age of 6 I already started to play soccer. From the first moment on the passion for the game was present and my interest for sports science was also launched. I have been very lucky to play for many years at the highest level in youth competition and could experience winning the Belgian U17 championship with Standard de Liège. Being surrounded by many skilled players as Jean-François Gillet (today still a goalkeeper in the Italian Serie A), Bernd Thijs (Standard de Liège, Bourussia Mönchen Gladbach, KRC Genk, AA Gent) and others was a tremendous experience and told me a lot about the most popular game in our world.
At the age of 17 I made my début in 2nd division playing for KFC Diest. Here I could play with Timmy Simons, for years the captain of the Belgian national squad. Also my too short period -due to a heavy injury- as a pro player in KV Mechelen, the former European Cup Winner, will always stay in my mind. Whole of my career I played in Belgian national divisions and several times I was the top scorer of my team.
Already during my player's period in 3rd and 4th division I started to work as a master physiotherapy at the University Hospital Leuven. Again I made acquaintance with many very talented athletes and I could treat elite referees, players of the national Belgian youth teams and many famous pro players.
Today I am already qualified as a youth trainer and I am an instructor "Prevention in sports injury and health education" for the Belgian Football Federation. Together with my father, Michel Bruyninckx, I want to promote and distribute the CogiTraining Method, because I fully believe in the importance of brain centred learning strategies.
